"touched by the serene beauty of the moonlit stones at Shabarimela in south ... the play of light on the huge stones, I found resemblence with the great men , I had known ..I felt as if they were Mahatmas with sublime spirits... alas ! they are a mismatch in todays settings, their depth and knowledge ... unknown... an unperceived...I always dared to compare their greatness to my childhood........ anybody`s childhood"....?Chandrakant channe's graphic drawings, a series on 'childhood' and "Mahatma" forms the core of his expression in black and white. His works in series of drawing glorifies the magnanimity of imaginative chidhood and greatness of mahatma . At times he has come up with the quintessence forms of such vibrant still loving energies of childhood, with such simplest format as kite playing, horse riding, swimming, fishing etc. and the other hand expresses the immense characters of mahatma and there holiness.?In simlified forms, the artists has excelled well in reducing moments into signified visual transformation. Marvelous blend of textures and frequent silhouette add to the forms the required buoyancy and innocency.The forms are well set in the space, that itself seems to be the perfect pious for such simple, innocent memories. The white of the space extends into eternity and why not, what would be better dwelling for such fantastic period in life.
