Confirmed artist

Arzan Khambatta (B. 1966) ArzanKhambatta, an innovative sculptor, is known for his unconventional creations. His quirky sculptures try to redefine the world and take a new look at every day happenings. He is hosting his unique sculptures for public viewing at Salt Water Grill, located down South Mumbai beach. The artist describes himself as an architect by profession but an artist by choice. He has also taken to interior designing recently. He is a qualified Architect from RachnaSansad's Academy of Architecture, India. He comes from an architectural background, his father being a noted architect. His works were noticed by a close family friend, the late architect Dara Mistry, who bought his first work, The Horse Head "Asp-iSyah", in 1983. The talented sculptor had his first solo show at the Jehangir Art Gallery almost a decade ago. Since then he has held many shows regularly. Today, his work can be found in the collection of the elite of this country, from industrialist Kumarmanglam Birla and Harsh Goenka, to superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Of course, all this has happened after years of hard work coupled with his passion and creativity. It was at AdiDavierwala's studio that he first worked with clay and papiermache almost two decades ago, but was fascinated by the metal. Even as the artist absorbed thoroughly the nuance of the mediums such as clay, papier-m'ch', and wood, his urge to experiment drove him towards the basic material itself.
